Crabulous!

This weekend LP's sister and her hubby came to visit us! We didn't have a whole lot planned, but it ended up being a busy weekend somehow! Friday, we all went to dinner and then went to see a band called the Fruit Bats. They are a side project of some of the guys in The Shins, and they were pretty good! After a few songs, they all switched instruments so there were different guys singing and playing guitar and drums throughout the show.

Saturday we were going to try to go to the Smithsonian Museum of American History because LP's brother-in-law had a grandfather who is now in the museum as part of the martime exhibit. Super cool, right? So, we headed down there but it was way too crazy for us (we'll get into that later) so off to crab time! We went to Annapolis, MD to try out a place we'd heard about called Cantler's.

Sitting at our table. Note the bucket to throw our crab guts in to!! Gross!!

Here come the crabs!!

This was some of the best corn ever!
Aftermath of the massacre

After my first crab, I decided that crabs are still not really my thing. All that work and you have to touch their guts and lungs and all that just grossed me out so I ordered crab cakes. They were sooooooo good! You can see one in the bottom of this pic.

When we left, we decided to check out the Naval Academy on the way home. It was pretty cool but they're not really accessible so we couldn't get in and see the campus too well. We went home with the intention to go to the exhibit now. See, the problem with when we tried to go earlier was that there was this wonderful health care rally. It was super. Please read with lots of sarcasm. This rally was all white people (seriously, all white) holding these ridiculous signs about freedom and don't tread on me and other crazy comments. I won't go into my rant about how absolutely stupid it is to make comments referring to leaving our messed up health care system as it is, but I will leave it at I almost attempted to run one of them over and see what they thought about the cost of their health care then. Here was one group of them. Note that the one in the middle will probably be the first one to experience how expensive his cost of healthcare is.

Afterwards, we went to LP's house and watched some college football!!! Fun. Today we got up and went to a fabulous brunch at this place called Tabard Inn. So yummy! We eventually ended up here to have an afternoon cocktail and watch the water:

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and having LP's sister and her husband around is always a great time!!
