bed time

we are 'those' people who let their dog sleep with them most of the time. now don't get me wrong, when he is being wiggly or crazy, we put him out of the room and he's more than happy to sleep in his bed. but for the most part we just let him sleep with us (this is definitely more me than lp!!!). 

he actually has two beds. one upstairs and one downstairs. recently, he's been going crazy over the bed downstairs. it al started when we got him a bone and he tried to hide it in the bed. he would dig and dig and dig around in it, trying to hide the bone from us. now, i have no clue why he does it!!! 

it's kind of funny so enjoy!!

what is it about the promise of a three day weekend that makes any week bearable? and thank goodness because this week was a killer. one night i worked until 830, one day i messed up my scheduling so bad at work that i was sweaty and hot with embarrassment and by friday i was ready to collapse. 

this week was a big week for weebay also. our little boy became a man. or maybe not a man anymore, depending on how you look at it. that's right, he got snipped this week. poor little guy didn't even know it was coming.

 up to the surgery the doctor had been telling us that he would have to wear the cone of shame when he came home. lp and i were pretty much in agreement that we didn't really think he would need it because, as lp told me, "you can't fold a bean in half." after the surgery the doctor called and was talking to me about how weebay was doing. she asked if he had ever licked his boy-parts (no), ever tried (no) or ever got to his booty (no-duh). she then told me that since he had woken up, he hadn't even given his boy parts a second glance and so, as long as we monitored him, he didn't need a cone. hooray!!! i really didn't want him to have to wear that sad little cone.

favorite things

it's summer time. for me, that means dresses and tons of them. i love all kinds of dresses, although the laid back, austinite in me will always go for a longer dress as opposed to anything short. there's just something about a cool breeze blowing through a long dress that does it for me. these are some of my favorites right now. in doing this, i can see that not only do i have a thing for long dresses, but apparently stripes/chevron patterns.

ya'll, i have tuberculosis. or the whooping cough. ok, maybe it's just allergies, but i have had this nasty cough that makes me sound like i smoke 200 cigs a day. it's beating me down. saturday i slept until almost 10 and yesterday i took a nap. if you know me, you should know this is so unlike me. yesterday i was so tired and my body felt so worn down that i didn't even go run like i had planned. blah. so now lp has allergies and feels bad and i do too. although i will say that i'm feeling better today. anyway, this all led me to not doing a whole lot last week or this past weekend. here's what happened:

 which i have to wear a belt with, as it's a bit too large lately (boo ya!!!)

lp and i went to the gibson- neither of us knew they had a patio!! so of course we sat there. and it was lovely. 

i took weebay to the dog park and this adorable lady was there.

favorite things

i used to not like ice cream very much. then i had gelato and i became obsessed with the stuff. the other night, lp was making me a delicious tofu stir fry but we had no tofu so he went to the store. he came back with this stuff. it is so freaking delicious. we had the caramel cookie crunch and i'm telling you, yum. unfortunately, i cannot eat this every day or i would weigh 500 pounds. but if i could, i'd do it. it's delicious and they have all kinds of amazing sounding flavors (i want to try the banana chocolate swirl or black raspberry chocolate chip). so seriously, find out where you can get it and go buy some. it's that good. 

the graduate

our little boy is a graduate. that's right, he graduated from puppy preschool this week. if weebay were in a real school, he'd be that good looking, not-so-smart guy. or maybe the good looking social guy with an attitude guy. i was seriously worried that he wouldn't be able to graduate. i mean, he can do almost all of these little activities, but it really depends on if he feels like it. so i was a little nervous for this day. luckily, he did just fine (except walking).

we told the trainer about how weebay sometimes just doesn't like to walk and will stop where he is, lay down and refuse to walk. the trainer had the exact same problem.

it was such a great week and weekend for us!!! this weekend was awesome. awesome for a 31 year old, is clearly defined differently than awesome for a 21 year old. friday, lp and i took weebay to the vet and then went to find an outdoor bar that would let us bring the puppy on their patio. we found a surprisingly good one!!! locolat is a cute little belgian cafe on 18th and florida area. we sipped a few beers, had some snacks and left with a few chocolates for our crazy evening of watching a documentary (it's called project nim and it was really good- sad, sweet and made you say "really?!?!?!"). 

saturday was spent running errands- whole foods, eastern market, home depot, manicure, etc. that night i went to taste of the south with blair and shawna. it was full of drinks and food and dancing- three of my favorite things. unfortunately, i had had a massive headache all day saturday (which, btw, ran on into sunday too) so i ended up leaving early. ps- shawna, thanks for the tix. blair and i had so much fun with you guys!!!

sunday we went to target and then to weebay's graduation from puppy preschool!!! more pics on this later, but let me just say, ADORABLE. the rest of the day was spent resting and doing laundry. now, this may all seem like nothing to most of you, but this is my idea of a good weekend. i know, lame (for the most part) but i love getting stuff done, having drinks and walking around outside. all three things- accomplished!!!
