When Megan went to City Hall

I had nothing to do today (I know, poor me, right?) so I decided to check out San Francisco's City Hall. I'd seen it in pictures and drove by it yesterday and thought it looked like a really pretty city structure. So I put myself on the subway and walked there (it's kind of amazing how decent I am at finding my way around on foot. Car, probably not so much). When I stepped out of the station, I found myself in the middle of a cool farmer's market!

Now, in case you didn't see Milk, at the end of the movie, they all march to City Hall and this is the City Hall in the movie. He's a huge icon here and is the only person to have a bust in the City Hall who was not a mayor (thank you Megan for reading the useless info on the trolleys). Sunday is Gay Pride here, so I guess this is an ok thing for someone to put on a sign at a market...?

That's right, it says "Gay Day"- hmmmmmm.......

Man begging for change to me = waiting for me to take his picture

There is a serious homeless population here. Even more than Austin. The difference is that many of them like to cart around a lot of belongings. Literally, they cart them around.

This may have been a drug deal. I'm not really sure.

There's a nice, grassy area right in front of City Hall. People were just laying all over it. That may or may not have been their actual home.

Close up of the dome on top. It's sooooooo fancy!!

This guy was playing a mean horn. And then he did a little dance! I couldn't quite capture it on film. Darn!

Getting ready for Pride!

Abe follows me wherever I go. He's so serious looking here.

In unrelated news, I was sitting outside today reading a book. I looked up and lo and behold! The fog was rolling in. I hope you can get a feel for how it rolls down over the hills and into the city.
