We stopped at the worst convenient store ever. All we could scrounge up was squirt, funyuns and orange crush. As we drove, there wasn't a whole lot to see. The groom told us the drive was "amazing" and while there was about 2 miles that were kind of pretty, the rest was less than thrilling and filled with traffic. Here's the pretty part:
The rest of my pictures from the wedding are on a different memory card. Unfortunately, this card requires a piece of plastic that fits it into my computer and I (smarty pants) did not bring it. Duh! So, I'll show ya some Carmel wedding and Aquarium love at another time.
After the wedding, LP's good friends Mr and Mrs Whitehead stayed with us for a few days. Since LP had to work, I pulled a 3rd wheel and joined them. Monday we went to Ike's (more on this delicious place later) and then wandered down to Fisherman's Wharf and hit up the Aquarium. Tuesday, we went to Ike's again (seriously, this place is amazing) and then to the Alcatraz tour. First, we got on a boat:
Ha! Not that boat. A big boat. It takes you to Alcatraz, where they welcome all people. But Indians in particular.
It was all really, really cool. Seriously. They have a great audio tour that you should definitely do (it's free, Costanza!) and it's pretty entertaining. So, here are my "parents" walking up:
Checking out the morgue. OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!
Then, you're in!
This is the Rec Yard, where they got their fitness on.
And, shanked people. Like Mr Whitehead here.
My parents fought in the Rec Yard. They both lost.
Being locked in prison gets a thumbs down all around.
I liked this picture I took. No clue why. Maybe because it looks so spooky.
The Bay area. It was super foggy (as usual!).
I thought this was cool. It was the kitchen area and they had to make outlines of all the knives in case someone took one. This way, they knew which knife to look for. Pretty cool, right?!?!
So, there is Alcatraz in a nutshell! I'll work on getting those other pics (K Blair!!!) and posting. Eric's here tomorrow so I'm sure I'll have many more photos soon!!!

I feel like I was there! Thank you Megan. Now all I need to do is physically visit this wonderful place!
You know other people with the last name Whitehead...why haven't I met these people before...we obviously have so much in common!
Your sense of composition and framing is getting much better. Looks like it's getting close to time for that new lens.
MCM
If I had a better lens, I'd be able to get in a little tighter on some of my shots.....just saying....ha!
