girls in white dresses.....

i have a lot of days where i say "this is my favorite thing ever" so i have decided to compile a list of my favorite things. for today.

1. my favorite color: right now it's green, like the green that has popped up all over our back yard because of the rain. it's like NEON green and i'm kind of in love with it.

2. my favorite day of the week: sunday. it's when lp and i lay in bed and talk, read or watch tv. so cozy!

3. my favorite neighborhood: ours, of course!!! our block had a block party last weekend and i think it was just about the best thing ever.

4. my favorite clothing item: grandpa sweater. since i was in high school and found my first one at goodwill, i will always fall in love with a comfy grandpa sweater to wear with great jeans.

5. my favorite person: lp, of course. he's super awesome. we're about to paint this weekend and he's really been stepping it up in the home improvement department, which i adore.

6. my favorite food: babybel cheese. peeling off the wrapper and that red wax is one of the highlights of my day.

7. my favorite flower: lillies are really doing it for me right now. i seem to buy some almost every week at the store.

8. my favorite way to look at the world: my camera(s). i still love taking pictures and seeing what turns out. i'm on the hunt for a cool polaroid camera, although the film is achingly expensive.

9. my favorite drink: home made decaf coffee with that new naturals coffeemate. delish!

10. my favorite future thing: our fireplace. i can't wait to use it. you can believe that the first snap of true cold and i'm all out fire lady, complete with s'mores and wine and movies.

having nothing to do this summer sure was busy

so this summer has been crazy. i've been not working very much but somehow we've been super busy anyway. so here's my summer life!!!

1. this is what i see almost every day when i drive to work. dude. it's kind of awe inspiring.

2. we discovered a hole in the wall, authentic thai restaurant. it's in a basement, it's a fixed price and you don't order, the guy just cooks you what he feels like. and it's amazing. clearly, aaricka and kyle gave it 2 thumbs up.



3. we went to see my morning jacket. for the hundreth time. they are one of our favorite bands and we all car pooled out to merriweather to see the show. i drank adult sno-cones (sno-cone with vodka!!), kyle let us ruin his shirt during the show, there was nasa beer bear and we all got sweaty and danced.

4. we went to west virginia for lp's family reunion. it was breathtakingly gorgeous (of course i forgot to bring my good camera). there was a gold tournament and i got to drive the golf cart. hooray!!! i found a sweet koozie in the gift shop ("if someone offers you a life, take it!) and we got to drive all through the mountains. i wanna go back!!




5. we had an earthquake. and then a hurricane 2 days later. lp and i threw a party for the 'hurriquake'

6. dc has an abundance of all-you-can-eat-and-drink places. on labor day weekend, we went to one. it was pretty good but we were STUFFED.





7. i just got back from acl. it was super great. as always. the weather was decent. i always say 'this is my last year' (because i'm getting old) but then i love it so much!!!
