it's been so hot here. weebay just wants to run like crazy and then pass out for hours. it's so humid i actually busted out the chi again. and i'm living in shorts. i just finished "the night circus" and let me tell you, it's awesome. i highly recommend it to anyone. it's the story of a fantastic circus that's only open at night. they have all kinds of unique and wonderful things, including fantastical tents, an illusionist and hints of magic everywhere. loved it. 

favorite things

i'm super busy, super stressed and feeling super grouchy this week, so here are some of my favorite things that are getting me through the week:

1. favorite person- lp. duh. he's doing a nice job of making me laugh when i get too grumpy and giving me big hugs when i need them.

2. favorite animal- weebay. duh twice. last night he sniggled up in my neck while we slept and when i woke up, his big bug eyes were watching me. i love my little buddy.

3. favorite coffee- skinny vanilla lattes. it's been so nice outside this week (70s!) so i've been warming up with a hot coffee beverage and this is one of my favorites.

4. favorite shoes- been living in my navy saltwaters. they are so comfy and i can kick things if i feel like it without having them fly off my feet.

5. favorite day- next friday. i take off to see eric and kristen in san antonio! hooray for our friendcation!!!

mom happy

my mom is the bomb. i'm sure you all have great moms too, but i cannot imagine my life with a different mom. top 5 things i love most about my mom:

1. she loves me. like, really loves me. no matter what, unconditionally, anything can happen and she would still love me. 

2. she took me everywhere with her when i was little. 

3. she's silly. and happy. 

4. we talk almost every day and have since i moved away. when i lived in austin, we had lunch every saturday or sunday and dinner once a week. 

5. she supports and encourages me in everything i do. 

hope you all had a great day with your moms. i wish i lived closer so i could take her out for a fun lunch, but we will just have to do that in a few weeks when i see her in dallas!!!

happy birthday, lp!!

it's lp's birthday. if you see him or know him, give him a shout out for his big day. in honor of my favorite person in the whole world, here are 5 things that i find amazingly awesome about him that i did not know when we started dating:

1. he loves the movie "dune." when we started dating i swore up and down that i hated science fiction movies and books (this has been proved to be completely and utterly untrue. in fact, i love that stuff.). he used to try to make me watch one of his favorite movies (dune) and i would fall asleep or beg off watching it that day. he's watched it so many times, he actually had it on vhs. yeah buddy.

2. he loves guns n roses. like, a lot. knows their catalog, band history and has bootlegs of some of their stuff. we had a 30 minute conversation about them on saturday (congrats on your induction to the hall of fame, guys).

3. he hates mayo. i can't say i blame him, but he also hates almost all things creamy (ew, i hate that word). cream cheese, yogurt, all of that stuff.

4. he knows so much stuff about politics. like, so much. i can't even wrap my brain around half of what he's holding in his noggin about history and politics. it's kind of amazing.

5. he loves our dog so much. it makes my heart happy to see them wrestling or snuggling together on the couch or in bed.
